Waterloo Job Fair Tomorrow Promises to Fill 20 Jobs in Silicon Valley

A new job fair in the Kitchener-Waterloo region tomorrow will look to fill 20 positions within Silicon Valley startups.

The Disrupter Job Fair, put on by Syndesus, which connects technology companies in the US with engineering talent in Canada, will be hosted at Brick Brewery in Uptown Waterloo.

“One of the big problems facing Silicon Valley startups is finding the right talent to work for the companies,” said Syndesus cofounder Marc Pavlopoulos. “Many of the talented engineers in Waterloo Region want to stay in this community. We believe the solution is to recruit local talent and have them work remotely from here. It’s a win win.”

All interested techies should come with a C.V. for the event that runs from 5-7 PM. Register online here.

Interested job seekers will have the opportunity to work at five different Silicon Valley Companies. These companies offer stock options, full benefits, RRSP plans, and flexible hours. The positions available include Front End Developers to Principal Engineers.

“For the first job fair, we are targeting engineers with more than two years experience. We have a thriving startup community with many experienced workers, and are confident we have the local talent to fill the positions,” said cofounder Veronique St-Germain.
