Toronto’s Digital Flyer Startup Wishabi Creates App for All Those Flyers in One Place

I have to think frequent shoppers are going to want to download this app that is “transforming” the flyer industry.

Toronto-based Wishabi, creators of a digital flyer platform used by top retailers across North America, today announced the launch of Flipp, a flyer app that helps users find sales in their community and plan their weekly shopping trips.

The free iPhone and iPad app brings tons of flyers from stores like IKEA Canada and Target Canada, displays them neatly and allows users to create shopping lists and “start the shopping experience from anywhere at any time.”

“We are giving consumers what they want. Canadians love flyers, in fact, 46% actively seek them out. Flipp brings the weekly flyer to life on mobile, personalizes it and delivers it to the hands of consumers coast-to-coast creating a shopping experience and savings like never before,” said Wishabi CEO Wehuns Tan. “Wishabi is transforming the flyer industry. The launch of Flipp further drives the movement of connecting customers with their favourite retailers in the exact way they want in this digital age.”

Founded in 2007 and with offices in Toronto and New York, Wishabi already possesses an impressive rolodex in the digital flyer industry, with over 95 store flyers in Canada on its industry leading technology platform. Some of the names are Macy’s, PetSmart, Sports Authority and Dollar General. The company has a distribution network that reaches over 20 million consumers monthly.

Wishabi says its mission is to fundamentally improve how people discover, view and share flyer content across all devices and platforms.

Besides the shopping list feature in the Flipp app, users can quickly flip through favourite flyers to find items to purchase, highlight discounts to find biggest deals and save favourite store’s flyers for easy reference every week. The company will also hold a promotion where names will be drawn daily to win $500 gift cards.

Last time we wrote about Wishabi was when the “Ad Gurus” raised a huge $15 million series B round back in early September. It appears the company has put some of that money to good use with today’s announcement.
