Toronto-based VerticalScope Acquires Health Media Today group of websites

Toronto-based VerticalScope has acquired a collection of health related sites from Health Media Today, a network that reaches 700,000 Canadians every month. Health Media Today is generally comprised of provincial doctor directories where Canadians find and rate doctors.

“We founded Health Media Today as a resource for Canadians after struggling to find a family physician ourselves,” said Nigel Da Costa, co-founder of Health Media Today. “Since that time the property has continued to grow and evolve into a tremendously valuable resource for Canadians. After 6 years we feel we have taken Health Media Today as far as we could and we are excited to see its growth and evolution with a great company like VerticalScope.”

The terms of the deal was not disclosed. Some of Health Media Today’s sites include OntarioDoctorDirectory.ca, ManitobaDoctorDirectory.ca, QuebecDoctorDirectory.ca, and CanadianCounsellors.ca.
