Tacit Innovations recently graduated from Communitech’s 3rd cohort and announced today that they’ve successfully raised $700 in funding from BDC, Canrock, Hyperdrive and a group of unknown private investors.

The company developed a mobile platform called meagan, previously named RestoLinkx, that allows customers discover, browse, order and pay for their meals from their smartphone (available on Android and iPhone). The Toronto-based company, which also has an office in Waterloo, has signed up three restaurants in Ontario to use their platform: Bauer Kitchen in Waterloo, Magic Oven in Toronto and Imbibe in Kitchener.

Tacit plans to use the funds to expand the development of its mobile app and increase sale. In addition, the company is eager to launch maegan in restaurants across North America and hinted that they “will be making a big announcement this February about an exciting collaboration with a local restaurant.”

Cris Jucan, CEO of Tacit Innovations, said “Our vision is to increase the restaurant-goers satisfaction while dining out by allowing them to quickly find detailed information about where and what to eat, and empower them to better control their experience.”
