Moodi wins Startup Next Toronto

Startup Next Toronto

Last Friday, the eight startups selected for Startup Next’s 2014 Winter Cohort pitched to a panel of judges for a spot at Startup Next’s global demo day in San Francisco, as well as a selection of prizes from local partners. Social platform Moodi took home top honours, with Thimble (formerly Gradfly) took the second spot for its Github-like “crowd-instructing” repository.

Backed by Techstars and Google for Entrepreneurs, Startup Next is a prep-course for startups pursuing investment or an accelerator spot. Startup Next says that in 2014 it has helped 20 startups find accelerator placement, and eight other startups raise a collective $6.7 million in seed funding.
