iQmetrix Acquires Vancouver Startup Web Werkz for its eCommerce Offerings

In a deal involving two relatively unknown Vancouver companies, iQmetrix, a provider of retail management software for independent North American wireless retailers has acquired Zebop Wireless Information Inc.

Zebop is a Vancouver-based web design company commonly known as Web Werkz, which builds websites for independent wireless retailers.

“We are extremely excited about this acquisition, which will leverage Web Werkz’s demonstrated expertise in e-commerce,” says iQmetrix CEO Christopher Krywulak. “iQmetrix solutions focus on creating great in-store experiences for the retailer, retail staff and the end consumer, and now with Web Werkz, we can extend those experiences to the online channel.”

It looks like iQmetrix made the move to take advantage of Web Werkz’s e-commerce offerings, which will complement iQmetrix’s existing in-store and mobile retail solutions for “true omnichannel experiences.”

“This means no matter where consumers interact with the retailer – online, in-store or via mobile – they will have a seamless and consistent buying experience, and a consistent brand experience,” said Krywulak.

iQmetrix will now enable retailers to manage content, pricing and inventory information for all channels using a single, centralized product library. Ultimately, iQmetrix will make it easier for retailers to deliver and manage omnichannel experiences.

“We are excited at the possibilities iQmetrix has opened up for our company,” said Web Werkz President Al Kilburn. “By joining iQmetrix, we are not only able to expand our market reach beyond Canada and into the U.S., we also become a part of an exciting company that shares our values and priorities.”

Web Werkz’s primary offerings include WirelessDealer.ca, a custom website platform with an online ordering portal and CompareCellular.com, which provides consumer phone and rate plan comparisons. WirelessDealer.ca has built websites many of the top wireless retailers across Canada, including Best Buy Canada, Future Shop, WirelessWave, TBooth, and more.
