Canada’s Consul General for San Francisco on validating your startup in the Valley

San Francisco

Not all Canadian startups know that they have their very own ambassador waiting for them in the Bay Area. Cassie Doyle is the Canadian Consul General for San Francisco, tasked with connecting Canadian startups to Silicon Valley. In this interview clip with Rob Woodbridge of UNTETHER.tv, Doyle states that time spent in the Valley can be a great benchmark for a young startup’s level of innovation, as it validates its ideas against the international market. “We see companies come in here thinking that they’re really on the leading edge, only to find out that actually three companies are doing that,” she explains.

Ms. Doyle also lists the variety of initiatives offered by the Consulate General for Canadian startups looking to land in the Valley, as well as the potential to connect with investors around the world.
