27 Finalists announced in the 2013 Canada Post ‘E-commerce Innovation Awards’

Canada Post has announced the finalists in their second ‘E-commerce Innovation Awards’ today. In total there are 27 finalists in six different categories vying for the chance to capture a piece of the $1 million worth of prizes up for grabs (most in the form of parcel shipping contracts and direct marketing programs).

It’s estimated that Canadian companies sold about $122 billion worth of goods online last year and the awards program was set up to ‘honour companies that are transforming the Canadian e-commerce space.’ The six categories are: Best Multi-channel Retailer (Large), Best Multi-channel Retailer (Small), Best E-tailer (Large), Best E-tailer (Small), Most Innovative Retailer (Large), and Most Innovative Retailer (Small).

There’s a great mix of companies in each category doing amazing things online, notedly Well.ca, ClearlyContacts, Transcend Coffee, Frank & Oak, Knix Wear, BookMob and Beyond the Rack.

The judging panel consists of Rafe Petkovic of Google Canada; Josh Bloom of Facebook Canada; Stéphane Ricoul of Sid Lee Technologies; Duncan Payne of DX3; and Siobhan Vinish of Postmedia Network. Winners will be revealed on September 25th. Here’s the full list of finalists:
